Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Strategic Partnerships is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and managing relationships with key corporate, civic, nonprofit, and philanthropic partners to advance the YMCA’s mission, programs, and strategic initiatives. This leadership role develops and executes partnership strategies that enhance community impact, increase revenue, and elevate the YMCA’s presence as a vital and collaborative community resource.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Cultivate and steward relationships with corporate sponsors, government agencies, school systems, nonprofit organizations, foundations, and community influencers.
Identify opportunities for mutually beneficial collaborations, including program sponsorships, volunteer engagement, in-kind support, and marketing campaigns.
Advancing YMCA pillars of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
Collaborate with senior leadership, marketing, development, and programming teams to craft compelling partnership proposals, presentations, and reports.
Track and evaluate partnership performance metrics to ensure accountability, impact, and return on investment.
Serve as a strategic contact for strategic partners, ensuring clear communication, timely deliverables, and strong relationship management.
Support funding sponsorship proposals as needed, in coordination with the development team.
Represent the YMCA at networking events, conferences, and community meetings to build visibility and strengthen relationships.
Maintain accurate partner records, timelines, and communications in the organization’s CRM system.
Champion the YMCA’s values and community impact to internal and external stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, nonprofit management, or related field preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience in strategic partnerships, corporate relations, business development, or related field, preferably in the nonprofit or social impact sector.
Proven success in building high-value, long-term partnerships and collaborative initiatives.
Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Familiarity with CRM platforms organization uses (e.g., Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Office Suite).
Passion for community development and commitment to community engagement.
Satisfactory drug screen, motor vehicle report, background check, and references •

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Office environment with regular travel within the community.
Occasional evening and weekend responsibilities for partner events or community engagements.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and set up displays or materials at partner events when needed.
