Community Builder – Buena Vista Apartments Overtown Youth Center is seeking a dedicated and passionate Community Builder to join our team. This role is perfect for an individual who is committed to empowering youth and families. The Community Builder will successfully implement program components that lead to positive outcomes for the children and families that we serve. The major functions as the Community Builder are to utilize OYC MIAMI’s existing networks and resources, provide aid, training, and access to reliable community resources for students and parents. The Community Builder gathers and delivers information and referrals related to health, education/academic supports, financial assistance, legal assistance, employment assistance, and other community resources in order to meet the needs of children and families (particularly those residing in the Lincoln Fields Apartment community).

What you would do:

in a professional manner in the community Assist families with enrollment processes for OYC program services Work closely with students and families to help identify family needs and generate a service plan Serve as a liaison between students, parents, and community partners Assist the Family Services Team with linking clients with the proper resources needed Conduct follow up calls and meetings with students and families to monitor progress towards service plan goals Conduct community outreach to promote

services Promote parent/family engagement Create meaningful relationships with community partners, such as key local residents, schools, intervention providers, and community-based organizations Facilitate an understanding of how academic, social emotional, and developmental needs of children are being met, such as through community (schools, community- based organizations, religious organizations, etc.) Learn and use techniques to support community building Research/identify community resources available to support client needs Work collaboratively with community partners and attend community meetings as needed Ensure accurate documentation of all client information and activities Other duties as assigned by

Direct Supervisor Requirements:

Who we’re looking for: At least 1 year of experience in youth programs. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional qualifications or certifications a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and teams. Bi-lingual (Creole/Spanish) preferred but not required. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) are necessary. A positive, team-oriented attitude with a strong ability to adapt to changing needs. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass drug screening and Level 2 background check.
