Americans for Immigrant Justice (AI Justice), an award-winning not-for-profit legal services organization founded in 1996 to protect and promote the basic human rights of immigrants, has a multicultural and a multilingual staff. AI Justice has represented clients from around the world and is recognized as a powerful advocate and national leader for immigrants’ rights. AI Justice works closely with traditional civil rights groups as well as grassroots organizations and local, state and national government officials to affect positive change in immigration policies.

JOB SUMMARY

PRIMARY

RESPONSIBILITY

The Digital Marketing & Communications Manager supports AI Justice in achieving its mission by building, growing, and protecting its reputation and expanding its reach and impact. The manager understands AI Justice’s objectives and priorities and participates in creating and implementing plans to meet those objectives. The manager develops and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate this work. Focusing on distinct and collaborative touchpoints, ensuring strategic alignment and streamlined communication across all platforms. All duties are performed in compliance with AI Justice’s policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

Social Media Management:

Develop and execute social media strategy across platforms to boost engagement and increase followers; create, schedule, and analyze posts.

Content Creation:

Produce, edit, and proofread external and internal content, including blog posts, social media graphics, external quotes, press releases, videos, and other visual materials. Including interviewing staff, reading program updates, keeping up with current and relevant news, reaching out to partner organizations, and more.

Media & Press Relations:

Maintain and establish media relations and vet media request to ensure they are alien with AIJ’s mission and nature of the work.

Website Management:

Regularly update the website with news, events, and content; ensure information is current and accessible; optimize SEO.

Email and SMS Marketing:

Manage the organization’s email and SMS campaigns. Including designing, scheduling, and analyzing email performance for better reach.

Analytics and Reporting:

T rack and report on digital marketing metrics (social media, website, and email marketing); make data-driven recommendations. Including managing and updating AIJ’s Annual Communications Calendar.

Collaborative Content Production:

Work with other team members to ensure cohesive content across all digital platforms.

Database Growth and Management :

Including upkeep, cleaning, and segmentation of contact lists, CRM, and targeted lists. Support and organize AIJ’s press work.

Special Event Support:

Attend, collaborate, support AIJ’s fundraising and other special events that from time to time may take place in the evenings and/or weekends.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Exceptional writing skills for a variety of different audiences.
• Knowledge of development/fundraising concepts.
• Strong interpersonal/human relations skills.
• A team player that is open to suggestions, follows protocols, and confidentiality standards.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, website development and design, social networking experience, and database management.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Ability to work well with people of diverse educational, cultural and professional backgrounds.
• Previous experience working with a mission-driven non-profit is very helpful.
• Established media relations is a plus.

EDUCATION

: Bachelor’s degree in public administration, nonprofit management, communications, marketing or related disciplines.

Location :

Candidate must be based in South Florida. Position eligible for work from home, hybrid, or in-office designation in accordance with AI Justice Job Classification Policy.

Salary & Benefits:

• Salary commensurate with experience.
• AI Justice offers a comprehensive benefits package, including excellent health, vision, dental, and life insurance coverage; 15 paid days of vacation leave; 13 paid holidays; 10 paid health days; 1 personal day.

After one year of employment, staff are entitled to paid parental leave and up to 3% matching employer contribution to 403(b) retirement plan. Vacation and health leave increases after two- and five-year anniversaries. Paid sabbatical available at five years.
