POSITION PURPOSE
The Football Communications Manager will lead the execution of the Confederation’s Football Communications and Media Operations strategies. This involves developing, implementing, and managing football communication strategies and various day-to-day tasks such as drafting communications materials, supervising media operations staff, and managing Concacaf’s online Media Hub.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Support the development and execution of comprehensive football communication strategies. Act as the primary contact for media inquiries and build/maintain relationships with media outlets and journalists across the region to secure positive coverage. Draft, edit, and translate communication materials, including media releases, newsletters, statements, briefing documents, and other materials. Oversee the execution of world-class media operations plans, both online and in-person, for competitions and corporate events. Monitor and analyze the department’s communication efforts, providing reports and recommendations. Manage Concacaf’s football editorial group, calendar, freelance writers, and photography agencies day-to-day. Work with other Concacaf departments and key external stakeholders, including Concacaf Member Associations, national teams, clubs, host venues, and local and international media to ensure the proper execution of the Confederation’s communications strategy. Other communications responsibilities as required.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that s/he can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field. At least 5 years of experience in a similar role. Key knowledge of the football/soccer industry and language. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. The ideal candidate is bilingual (English/French or Spanish). Dutch is a plus. Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions. High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information is critical and professionalism in dealing with others, both inside and outside of the confederation, is a must. Must be a process-driven thinker and goal-oriented.

attention to detail; creating and managing timelines, key deliverables, dependencies, quality, and timely delivery. Skilled in managing several projects simultaneously. Ability to solve issues in a multicultural environment. Continuous improvement mentality Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required Candidate must have the flexibility to travel nationally and internationally for the performance of his/her duties.
Approximate travel requirement:
