This full-time hybrid position is based in Miami, FL, and is available for immediate hire!
POSITION SUMMARY
The Vice President of Development will serve as a visionary leader and expert relationship builder, bringing a spirit of courage, compassion, and strategic commitment to their work. This individual will be deeply passionate about advancing a mission rooted in equity and community impact, energizing a diverse network of supporters and stakeholders. The VP will lead the development and execution of innovative fundraising strategies, foster meaningful donor and community relationships, and mobilize resources and people to drive the organization’s mission forward.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and lead integrated fundraising initiatives that support both annual goals and long-term sustainability. Build and nurture relationships with major donors, corporate partners, foundations, and public sector stakeholders. Drive donor engagement through persuasive storytelling, mission-aligned outreach, and strategic communication. Guide and empower the development team, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and accountability. Partner with internal teams to ensure fundraising priorities reflect and support broader organizational objectives. Participate in and coordinate outreach efforts that elevate visibility and deepen community connections. Analyze fundraising data to assess outcomes, identify trends, and refine approaches to maximize results.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field; advanced degree a plus. Progressive experience in fundraising, with a track record of success in donor cultivation, major gifts, and event-based revenue generation, ideally within a nonprofit environment. Effective leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders. Strategic thinker with strong analytical and creative problem-solving capabilities. Deep commitment to advancing equity, inclusion, and community impact. Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments and values cross-functional collaboration. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-focused setting. Proficiency with donor management systems and CRM tools; comfort with reporting, tracking, and analyzing development metrics.
