Role:
We are looking for candidates who possess the ability to think both creatively and analytically. Social media and PR manager duties include producing and publishing content, writing, editing, and proofreading, formulating content strategies, implementing overall brand initiatives and events as a member of the Marketing team, managing a team of influencers, and overseeing public relations efforts to elevate brand visibility and credibility. Social media and PR manager should be comfortable finding creative ways of building a current online social media presence and external brand awareness, ensuring engagement as well as compiling social data and media analytics.
Social Media and PR Manager Responsibilities:
Dedication to, management of and ownership of all Ideal Nutrition social media output. Maintain a consistent brand voice and image across all social media channels. Ensure that all content aligns with the brand’s values and messaging. Writing, producing, editing, styling, curating and proofreading creative content. Formulating and implementing a multi-platform content strategy. Bringing new, creative ideas to the Ideal Nutrition social media platforms and integrating them into the social media strategy. Brainstorm with team members to develop new ideas. Build a following on social media, increasing engagement on social media. Provide editorial, creative, and technical support to team members. Monitor social media analytics to track performance and gather insights. Prepare regular reports on key metrics and adjust strategies based on data. Create content from onsite field events. Maintain a content marketing calendar that schedules all aspects of the creation and delivery of content throughout the year. Learn the standards of Ideal Nutrition branding and coach a team of influencers to adhere to said standards. Stay abreast of current best practices in the industry and review competitor social media accounts to compare their activities with those of Ideal Nutrition. Perform regular content audits to ensure content is accurate, optimized, updated, and relevant to the target audience. Foster a sense of community around the brand by responding to comments, messages, and mentions. Encourage user-generated content and interact with the audience. Monitor social media channels for mentions of the brand, industry, or relevant keywords. Use insights from social listening to inform content and strategy. Ensure that all social media activities comply with relevant laws and regulations. Identify and collaborate with influencers to extend reach and credibility, manage team of influencers. Work closely with the Marketing Director and Brand Marketing Manager to align messaging and content to the brand.
Public Relations Responsibilities:
Build and maintain relationships with local media outlets, journalists, bloggers, and community partners to increase Ideal Nutrition’s media coverage and brand visibility. Draft press releases, media kits, and public statements for new product launches, store openings, partnerships, events, and company announcements. Pitch story ideas and secure media coverage in print, digital, broadcast, and podcast formats. Coordinate PR campaigns that align with product promotions, seasonal initiatives, and company milestones. Monitor media coverage and maintain a database of press hits and media contacts. Serve as a brand spokesperson when needed and prepare leadership for media interviews. Organize and support community engagement efforts, including charity partnerships, local sponsorships, and earned media opportunities. Manage crisis communications in collaboration with leadership and external partners, ensuring consistent and clear messaging. Report on PR campaign outcomes and track earned media impressions, sentiment, and ROI. Support internal communications to maintain strong brand messaging across departments.
Social Media and PR Manager Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, English or related field. Strong skills in creating original content that targets a specific audience and meets Ideal Nutrition brand standards. 3-4 years of social media marketing and 1-2 years of PR experience in a related role. Proven ability to manage media relations (online, broadcast, print) and generate positive coverage. Adept at social media and PR best practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortability in front of the camera and with public speaking. Proficiency with popular content management systems. Experience with social media management. Experience with food styling. Creativity and the ability to develop original content. Videography skills. Strong leadership qualities.
