WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Community Engagement Specialist is a non-exempt position responsible for implementing strategies to foster positive relationships between the program and its community. This role focuses on community visibility, communication, and collaboration with community members and stakeholders to promote and enhance community involvement. Develop and/or participate in community engagement events and activities to connect community members, organizations, and stakeholders. Plan, organize, and manage community engagement opportunities that enhance the community’s awareness of the program and support the needs of its members. Develop and distribute informative and engaging content through various channels, including flyers, marketing materials, and other needed platforms.• Establish and maintain relationships with community leaders, local businesses, and other relevant entities. Prepare reports on community engagement activities, highlighting successes and areas for improvement. Work closely with internal teams, including outreach, to ensure community engagement efforts align with objectives and do not overlap. Perform all other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

: Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, social work, or a related human services field. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in community engagement, outreach, or a similar role. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong project management skills. Familiarity with community development principles and practices. Proficiency in using social media and other digital communication tools. Passion for community involvement, creativity, initiative, empathy, and cultural sensitivity. Must have the ability to travel as this position will typically involve working in office and community environments. Must have flexibility as some evening and weekend work may be required to attend community events. Must have a valid driver’s license with proof of auto insurance coverage
