Quest Corporation of America, Inc. (Quest) is Florida’s largest transportation communications firm and is seeking a Communications Manager to join our Polk County/Heartland area team. The candidate must reside in one of the following counties: Polk, Hardee, Highlands, Okeechobee, Hendry, DeSoto and Glades County. The candidate is responsible for managing and facilitating community outreach efforts for infrastructure projects. The position includes stakeholder engagement, government relations, community relations, public speaking, content writing, documentation, and presentations. It also includes business development activities, including marketing, proposal preparation, and presentations. The ideal candidate has experience or a strong desire to work on and learn about infrastructure projects and will thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic organization. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Develop community engagement plans, key messages and community outreach efforts for infrastructure projects and initiatives. Develop and implement community engagement plans. Build positive relationships with stakeholders affected by or interested in projects. Leverage existing relationships to help achieve our organization’ and client’s missions. Create written content and collaborate with the creative graphics and/or video team to develop project educational materials. Research and facilitate business development activities, including marketing, proposal preparation, and presentations. Develop strategic alliances and partnerships. Design and maintain a favorable public image for the organization and customer. Coordinate and facilitate public meeting/hearing logistics. Responsible for leading communications on multiple municipal infrastructure improvement projects, serving projects throughout the Polk County region and surrounding counties.
Professional requirements:
Must have a minimum of three years of public involvement, public relations, media, or community outreach experience, preferably in infrastructure working for or serving a state or local government agency. Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, planning, or a related field from an accredited program preferred. Strong experience with project management, reporting processes, and program budgeting. Knowledge of road/bridge transportation, transit, utility, stormwater, and/or various infrastructure projects preferred. Talent for understanding, simplifying, and effectively communicating complex information to diverse audiences. Ability to perform responsibilities with a significant degree of independence, initiative, creativity, and expert judgment in an office setting. Able to work in a constantly evolving, confidential environment, and to travel by use of a vehicle to multiple locations. Superior organizational skills with the ability to multitask. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Bilingual
