Responsibilities Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly strategic and hands-on Senior Manager, Global Medical Affairs to serve as a foundational team member in building and executing the medical affairs strategy across key global markets. This individual will play a critical role in establishing the infrastructure, processes, and partnerships necessary to drive scientific engagement, generate evidence, and support product development and commercialization including overseeing the strategic direction of the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) field force. Responsibilities:
Establish the Medical Affairs strategy and roadmap for Cordis in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Build the global Medical Affairs framework, aligning regional medical needs with corporate strategy.
Develop global SOPs, governance, systems, and tools to ensure harmonized medical operations across regions.
Build and mentor a high-performing Medical Affairs team over time.
Be a thought leader and develop and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), advisors and medical societies as needed or assigned.
Strategize in conjunction with key internal stakeholders execution of scientific exchange to ensure alignment with Cordis’ innovation pipeline and commercial strategies.
Oversee and manage evidence pathways such as investigator-initiated studies and real-world evidence initiatives.
Serve as a scientific expert in developing sound clinical trial strategies and trial designs in collaboration with Marketing and Clinical Affairs
Serve as the medical expert in cross-functional teams including R D, Regulatory, Commercial, and Market Access.
Provide strategic and operational oversight of regional MSL teams, ensuring alignment with global medical objectives and scientific priorities.
Implement systems/tool for Medical Affairs activity tracking, metrics, and impact measurement.
Develop and manage the global Medical Affairs budget, including resource allocation across initiatives, vendors, and regions.
Monitor spend and ensure alignment with strategic priorities, forecasting needs and identifying cost-efficiency opportunities.
Provide medical insight into product development, lifecycle management, and go-to-market strategies.
Serve as a key resource in MDR reporting, clinical research, and medical risk management in support of quality and regulatory teams
Ensure all medical activities are compliant with internal policies and external regulations.
Develop and deliver training for commercial and clinical teams on scientific and clinical topics as needed.
Qualifications Required Qualifications University degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred for some disciplines. Requires a total minimum of 12+ years of relevant experience. Minimum 5-8 years of experience in Medical Affairs within the medical device, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in cardiovascular, endovascular, or interventional procedures strongly preferred.
Proven track record of establishing or scaling a Medical Affairs function globally
Proven organizational and project management skills.
Strong understanding of clinical research, statistical concepts, medical writing, regulatory frameworks, and KOL engagement.
Experience leading or overseeing MSL teams at the regional or global level.
Comprehensive understanding of policies, procedures, and guidelines relevant to investigator-initiated studies and medical affairs function.
Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.
Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced, and matrixed environment.
Attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Team player with a “can-do” attitude.
Ability to travel internationally as needed (~20-30%)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to evaluate scientific data and medical literature
