Work Shift Job Summary:

As the Experience Communications Director, you will serve as a collaborative strategic leader and partner directly with Wellstar leadership to constantly improve how we provide a great patient and team member experience and deliver on our commitment to more than healthcare PeopleCare.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Strategic Leadership:

Lead the development and execution of system and market-level Wellstar Experience implementation and sustainment strategies. Targeting two critical audiences team members and patients/consumers you will drive engagement plans to celebrate and leverage Experience champions in markets across the state and help infuse Experience language and standards in Wellstars enhanced talent practices.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders, hospital presidents, and other stakeholders. Engage stakeholders to gather on-going feedback and identify areas for additional support to ensure Experience standards are consistent throughout hospital markets. Collaborate with the VP, Organizational Communications, Experience leaders, and market-level Experience and Communication teams to develop and disseminate team-member communications.

Internal Communications:

Lead internal communications strategies that support the Experience strategic plan, messaging, materials, and execution. Introduce new, creative ways to reach team member and patients/consumers and promote Wellstars clinical expertise and high-quality care.

Content Creation:

Develop and distribute educational, engaging and inspirational content, leveraging new and existing communications tactics to reach team members and patients/consumers. Serve as the Experience liaison to creative teams to develop materials in support of the Experience strategic plan and within the fiscal-year Experience budget.

Performance Metrics:

Wellstar Experience impacts one of our important long-term aspirations providing a great patient and team member experience. In support of this system goal, establish and engagement metrics to monitor and measure communication effectiveness. Continuously fine-tune strategies based on engagement metrics to improve engagement and message penetration. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education:

Bachelors Communications Studies/Speech Communication and Rhetoric-Preferred or Bachelors Other Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. Additional License(s) and Certification(s):

Required Minimum Experience:

Minimum 10 years of corporate/organizational communications experience in developing and managing communication strategies.

Required Required Minimum Skills:

Demonstrated business acumen and skills in translating business strategies to comprehensive communication strategies. Outstanding oral and written communication and editing skills with a proven talent for storytelling and shaping perception. Strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to independently structure and manage workflow and priorities. Strong ability to develop accurate and detailed messaging with sensitivity and adaptability to varying tone, positioning and leadership styles Demonstrated track record of creative programs executed to meet business objectives. Experience advising corporate leaders. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and understand multiple, diverse stakeholders, anticipate impact of company actions on corporate reputation, and translate complex issues into clear, simple, and consistent messages and themes. Strong interpersonal/written communication skills aligned to the company’s values, tone and messaging. Strong ability to develop accurate and detailed messaging with sensitivity and adaptability to varying tone, positioning and leadership styles.
