POSITION DESCRIPTION
Help Partners in Change (PIC) ( www.picusa.org )
- provide free life coaching to more under-resourced Atlanta adults. Our Marketing and Community Outreach Specialist VISTA
- is a hybrid (virtual/in-person) position that will work to build upon and expand the marketing and outreach efforts at Partners in Change (PIC).
You will create cohesive brand content and marketing strategy, and expand PIC’s social media presence to increase community awareness and support. This will help to build capacity at PIC increasing financial support and volunteer Coach and Member recruitment. As a full-time Americorps VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America), you will join our team in this 1-yr. (renewable) volunteer position, receive a living allowance from Americorps (currently $957.46/bi-weekly, $24,890/year) and a strong benefits package, and contribute to a committed and experienced nonprofit team addressing inequities in the U.S. In this role, you will be part of designing the growth and larger impact of this innovative, young non-profit founded in 2019. You will be led by a diverse management team possessing a wealth of experience in service programs for K-16 education and at key Atlanta community and nonprofit organizations. You will gain additional professional development as you participate in monthly Team Meetings and one-to-one meetings with staff leadership, Coach trainings, community outreach, and staff skill-building as we support our coaching teams. You will gain valuable knowledge and experience from your personal interactions with volunteer coaches and community members. You will be at the heart of all we are doing as you support PIC’s long-term vision to enable personal, social, and economic upward mobility and substantially reduce inequities in our communities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Create content to generate new PIC graphics, videos, and messaging. Engage with PIC community members and partners at virtual and in-person gatherings and committee meetings, in order to develop persuasive new messaging and materials sharing PIC program impact. Manage PIC’s social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube), growing awareness of PIC’s life coaching program. Use industry best practices and application of algorithm knowledge to create content that will grow our audience on our social media channels. Create and distribute communications to support and inspire the PIC community. Research, create, and send weekly Opportunity Round Up emails sharing community resources of value to PIC participants and graduates Develop marketing materials such as fliers, posters, and other relevant communication tools. Grow PIC presence in the community by communicating with our community partners to find and attend in-person community events to encourage people to apply to either receive or become a trained PIC volunteer life coach. Support the development of a Partners in Change Marketing Plan to utilize in 2025 and 2026, to develop cohesion, consistency, and efficacy of PIC’s messaging and to increase awareness of the impacts of PIC coaching. Assist PIC Team in creating, executing, and documenting virtual and in-person PIC-sponsored educational and social events for PIC Coaches, Members, graduates, and Partners, helping to strengthen PIC’s internal community. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of PIC coaching model and on-the-ground insights, in order to accurately represent PIC’s coaching program and to share relevant stories that can move community members to either apply to receive or become a PIC coach.
ORGANIZATIONAL MISSION
Partners in Change (PIC) takes coaching’s track record of success for executives and brings that to under-resourced adults, empowering them to change the trajectory of their lives by building new ways forward through free life coaching. PIC pairs trained volunteer coaches with adults pursuing meaningful goals in areas such as employment, housing, education, personal development, and health. COMPENSATION
As an Americorps VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America) member, you will receive a monthly living allowance, currently $957.46/bi-weekly, $24,890/year. VISTA focuses on building capacity for non-profits, so this position offers the satisfaction of building something lasting and powerful for PIC.
