Credit Acceptance is seeking an experienced andstrategic Director of Government Affairs to lead our legislativeengagement efforts at the state and federal level. This criticalrole will shape and advance legislation impacting the Company’soperations, commercial interests, and the auto finance industry.

Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the Director of GovernmentAffairs will develop and execute strategies to align CreditAcceptance’s business priorities with broader policy objectives,fostering impactful relationships with lawmakers, regulators, andkey stakeholders.

Outcomes and Activities:
Legislative Strategy &Engagement:

Collaborate with the Chief Legal Officer and executiveleadership to shape and drive the Company’s federal and statelegislative agenda, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

Develop the strategic direction for outreach, issue management, andthird-party engagement, including building lobbying strategies andtactical plans and anticipating policy shifts. Engage state andfederal lawmakers, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to advanceCredit Acceptance’s interests. Monitor, analyze, and assesslegislative and regulatory developments, providing actionablerecommendations to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.

Establish and maintain a sophisticated network of relationships onCapitol Hill and with attorneys general, state governmentofficials, and regulatory bodies to advance business priorities.

Representation & Advocacy:

Serve as a respected and crediblerepresentative of Credit Acceptance in key industry forums,coalitions, and advocacy organizations. Facilitate collaborationbetween the Company and local governments on projects, initiatives,and partnerships. Manage crisis communications and reputationmanagement in the context of government relations in partnershipwith the Marketing team. Political Action Committee (PAC)

Management:

Establish and manage a Political Action Committee(PAC), including building the program, designing and executing itsstrategy, and overseeing fundraising, compliance, and reporting.

Hire and manage external consultants as needed to support PACobjectives. Oversee PAC operations, including fundraisingactivities, records management, and filing quarterly, mid-year, andend-of-year Contribution and Lobbying Disclosure Reports. RepresentCredit Acceptance at political fundraisers and related events.

Internal Collaboration & Reporting:

Synthesize complex externaldynamics into clear, actionable insights for the Company’sleadership. Regularly communicate legislative updates and strategicrecommendations to executive leadership while collaborating withinternal teams to ensure alignment.

Knowledge and Skills:

Deepunderstanding of the current political environment, policy-makingprocesses at the state and/or federal level (particularly thelegislative process), and the role of attorneys general.

Exceptional communication skills and executive presence, with theability to translate complex legislative issues into actionablebusiness strategies. Strategic and commercially focused mindsetwith a proven ability to synthesize external dynamics into clearinsights. Experience leading through change, making impactfuldecisions, and driving team and organizational success. Ability toembrace challenges, push for impactful change, and alignperformance with strategic priorities.

Requirements:

10 years ofexperience in public relations and government affairs managementFully remote position, but must be located in or near

Washington,DC Preferred:

Juris Doctor degree Demonstrated record of successlobbying the U.S. federal government

Targeted Compensation:
