We are seeking a leader to guide the future of communications for the Gulf South’s next medical school. This pivotal role will shape the future of a developing medical college. The candidate will work within a dynamic setting and collaborate on communications to promote academic excellence, innovative research, interdisciplinary collaboration in medical education, community partnerships, and initial marketing strategies. This position will be housed at XOCOM in downtown New Orleans. It will report to the Associate Vice President of University Communications with collaborative oversight from Enterprise Communications overseeing Academics at Ochsner Health. AA/EOE Minimum Qualifications Minimum of three years of professional experience in marketing, communication, or similar roles. Preferred Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, multimedia, or a related field is required. Higher education and healthcare experience preferred. Special Requirements Summary Lead the creative development of media campaigns, written materials, and XOCOM messaging. Collaborate with leadership to prioritize projects, allocate resources and meet deadlines efficiently. Implement communication strategies that enhance XOCOM’s visibility and support its mission. Work Hours Full time exempt position. Manage the flow of both internal and external communications across multiple channels. Collaborates with external vendors and freelances as needed. Serve as a brand ambassador, ensuring consistent storytelling across all university platforms. Coordinate and/or collaborate with faculty, committees, departments, programs and colleges to assess needs and identify available resources. Introduce innovative tools and processes toe nhance the team’s efficiency and output quality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Description Stay informed of emerging media and marketing trends. Ensure all materials adhere to XOCOM’s branding guidelines, maintaining a cohesive and professional image. Ability to align efforts with institutional goals. Create, receive and review reports on the progress of communications campaigns. Manage workflows and ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
