Program Manager, Communications and Marketing Murphy Institute Location:

New Orleans, LA Summary
Under direction of the Director of Murphy Institute Strategic Initiatives and Operations, the Program Manager (Communications and Marketing) supports Murphy leadership with managing program components and administration, specifically related to communications and marketing. These duties include but may not be limited to establishing procedures to maintain and report on program effectiveness, ensuring the programs align with the objectives. Assist with managing program budget. Organize and prepare program-relevant documents. Utilize existing and new marketing and communication resources to increase program awareness within Tulane and the community. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to accuracy and detail.
  • An understanding of the culture of private research universities.
  • Ability to manage independently the details of multiple programs, track activities and meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively with faculty and administrative staff.
  • Adept at a variety of computer and web applications related to events, communications, and marketing; willingness to learn new applications as needed for the position
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate public lectures, faculty seminars, and conferences. Required Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a field related to political economy.
  • Three years of directly related experience. Preferred Qualifications
  • BA/MA in a field related to political economy.
  • Experience in communications, original writing and editing, and public relations
  • Background in university administration or in an academic department.
  • Knowledge of or experience with Tulane software platforms and procedures, including but not limited to Concur, Interfolio, budgeting software, and the use of email clients and listservs.
