Community Engagement Manager (Tuesday – Saturday schedule)

Director of Community Engagement

The Role:

The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for planning, goal setting, strategy development, implementation, and evaluation of community engagement opportunities across the service region. This position is responsible for departmental efforts to mobilize the community through food drives to support our network in nourishing our neighbors. This position is responsible for supporting departmental efforts to strengthen strategic volunteer engagement efforts at Harvesters. Other aspects of the job This is a Tuesday – Saturday position with flexibility to work some evenings and other out-of-hour events up to 10% of the time.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Harvesters’ food safety policies and rigorously adhere to all related procedures to ensure compliance.

Qualifications:
Required:

Minimum 3-5 years of dynamic experience in volunteer management, corporate engagement, event planning, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, managing teams and projects effectively.
Ability to take initiative, coordinate with others, and follow through in a fast-paced environment
Keen attention to detail and skilled in planning and organization
Strong ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with corporate partners, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and handle multiple tasks
Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, and presentation skills
Proficient in MS Office applications and ability to learn other computer programs and databases with training
Class E License if a MO resident

Preferred:

Bachelor’s Degree in Non-Profit Management, Business, Communications, or a related field.
Knowledge of Kansas City’s philanthropic community and experience in the food banking industry
Experience with non-profit volunteer engagement software and data analysis tools
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry best practices
