Pay Rate:
Reimbursed by hour at $29 per hour, up to $32,000 a year. Work schedule : 20 hrs per week, nights/weekends required We are searching for an experienced outreach worker to work with our organization in overseeing the execution of a three-year federal grant. This is a contracted position at 20 hours a week, 100 % of time dedicated to the grant at $32,000.00 a year. The GSO CAN Facilitator will play a vital role in the Collaborative Action Network (CAN) aimed at reducing violence and promoting public safety in Greensboro. This individual will be responsible for leading weekly GSO CAN meetings, fostering collaboration among stakeholders, and ensuring that community voices are heard and integrated into strategies. The ideal candidate will possess strong facilitation skills, demonstrated experience in community engagement, and a passion for public safety and community development.
Typical Duties Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate Effective Meetings:
Lead engaging meetings, workshops, and discussions that encourage active participation and ensure all viewpoints are considered.
Manage Group Dynamics:
Oversee conversations during meetings, helping to resolve conflicts and maintain a positive group atmosphere. Align with
Agenda:
Keep everyone aligned with the meeting agenda, ensuring discussions remain focused on objectives.
Involve Stakeholders:
Actively involve participants in decision-making processes, encouraging diverse perspectives and contributions.
Ensure Smooth Process:
Implement methods to evaluate the effectiveness of meetings or workshops, ensuring they run smoothly and achieve desired outcomes.
Provide Guidance:
Assist teams in defining and achieving their goals, offering process improvement techniques and strategies as needed.
Document Outcomes:
Record meeting minutes and summarize discussions, decisions, and action items for distribution to participants. Follow-Up on
Action Items:
Ensure accountability by following up on action items assigned during meetings and tracking progress.
Build Relationships:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with community members, organizations, and public safety officials to enhance collaboration and trust.
Provide Feedback:
Offer constructive feedback to participants and stakeholders to foster continuous improvement.
Stay Updated:
Keep abreast of facilitation techniques and industry trends to enhance meeting effectiveness.
Qualifications Experience:
Proven experience as a Facilitator or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of community engagement principles.
Skills :
Proficient in using various tools and techniques to enhance group discussions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage group dynamics and ensure an inclusive environment. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle stressful situations and resolve conflicts.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field. Additional facilitation training or certification is a plus.
Project Management:
Experience in project management and team leadership is preferred.
