The Manager of Communications & CSR oversees all communications and media efforts, including community relations, corporate communications and basketball communications. This role is responsible for promoting all facets of the team, including community engagement, ticket sales, and corporate partnerships. The Manager of Communications & CSR will also plan and execute high-profile events featuring Swarm players, coaches, and leadership, while managing the day-to-day operations of the team’s community programs. Develop and manage local and regional media relationships across all platforms to generate publicity and coverage. Oversee and approve all written communications, including team publications and website content. Create and pitch compelling story ideas to education, trade, and consumer media to elevate the team’s profile. Manage and update the team website with timely news and features. Lead the game stats crew for all Swarm home games, including staffing, setup, and operations. Coordinate player, coach, and team president appearances in collaboration with basketball operations. Plan and execute community outreach events and programs featuring team personnel. Manage content and logistics for theme jersey auctions and postgame signings. Develop and maintain a year-round community events calendar in alignment with business objectives. Partner with nonprofit organizations to execute service projects and community ticket initiatives. Implement community programs in coordination with internal teams and NBA platform activations. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing and Team President. Required Skills, Experience and Abilities To perform the job successfully, you should demonstrate the following competencies: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field. 2-4 years of experience in a communications, marketing, or media-related role. Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams). Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Strong relationship-building skills, particularly with community and nonprofit organizations. Professional, reliable, punctual, and courteous. Knowledge of the local community and market is preferred. Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel as needed for games and events.
