Overview:
Downtown church is seeking a dynamic and creative Director of Communications and Engagement to lead our efforts in connecting with the congregation, enhancing our community outreach, and effectively communicating our mission. This role requires an understanding of church life, community building, and skills in both digital and physical content creation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communications plan for our historic and growing church, including strategies for internal and external messaging, marketing, and social media.
- Create and produce content for all church communication channels both physical (worship bulletins, programs, handouts), and digital (website, email newsletter, social media platforms) ensuring consistency with the church’s values, mission, and tone.
- Cultivate strong relationships within the congregation and local community to foster engagement and participation in church programs and events.
- Assist in daily church office operations, including record-keeping and reporting.
- Maintain systems for tracking and nurturing member engagement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in communications, marketing, or public relations.
- Experience with social media platforms and digital communications tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively with church staff and volunteers.
- An understanding of church traditions, and operations.
- A heart for community building and enthusiasm for the church’s mission.
Schedule:
Sunday through Thursday (Scheduling for interviews will begin May 6.)
