    Job Description The Marketing Communications Team leads strategic communications, reputation management, media relations, and program evaluation for Raleigh Parks. The Senior Communications Analyst plays a key role in supporting these efforts
  • working alongside the Marketing Communications Administrator to design and implement creative outreach strategies that strengthen community connection, increase program participation, and elevate the Raleigh Parks brand.

Duties and Responsibilities Serve as a marketing communications consultant for Raleigh Parks programs and facilities by developing strategic outreach plans, engaging target audiences, and monitoring progress
Contribute to the creation of creative marketing campaigns and collaborate across teams to ensure consistent, compelling messaging
Lead the Marketing Ambassador Program, including strategy, recruitment, training, scheduling, and event representation based on demographic and geographic insights
Coordinate marketing presence at community outreach events, including promotional materials, branded displays, and incentive strategies
Oversee photography and media asset management, including hiring photographers and maintaining a well-organized digital library.
Plan and coordinate dedication and ribbon-cutting events for new or renovated facilities, including scheduling, speaker engagement, press outreach, and logistics
Support public engagement and customer service by coordinating evaluations (surveys, assessments), managing service recovery responses, and planning dedications and ribbon-cutting events

Typical Qualifications Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in public relations, communications, public affairs or directly related field and five years of public communications experience OR An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Marketing/Communications, public relations, non-profit organizations, and/or municipalities
Experience with City or government operations and community engagement strategies

Additional Information Knowledge of:

Principles and practices of marketing, public relations, and communications
Techniques and strategies for effective communication, with the ability to adapt messaging across various channels and audiences
Evaluation methods, including survey design, needs assessments, and program analysis
Media production and publications, including digital asset management and branding

Skill In:

Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to tailor messaging for all audiences
Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Proficiency in using marketing and design tools, social media platforms, and communications software
Skilled in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to inform communication strategies
Event planning and execution, including logistics, promotion, and public speaking
Expertise in developing comprehensive communication plans that align with strategic goals and effectively engage target audiences Ability to: Manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities with attention to detail
Lead teams, delegate responsibilities, and collaborate effectively across departments
Make informed, strategic decisions in a fast-paced environment
Build relationships and work respectfully with people from all backgrounds
Apply creative thinking to solve problems and develop compelling campaigns

ADA and Other Requirements:

Positions in this class typically require: fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Sedentary Work:

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body.
