Communications and Board Relations Associate Center For Family Life in Sunset Park – 4.1 Brooklyn, NY Job Details Full-time $50,000 a year 15 hours ago Benefits 403(b) matching Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance 403(b) Life insurance Qualifications Mid-level Bachelor’s degree Communication skills Full Job Description Center for Family Life in Sunset Park (CFLSP), a nationally recognized social service organization in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, seeks a Communications and Board Relations Associate to join our administrative, fundraising, and grants management team. Our ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented with excellent written verbal and online communication skills, the ability to communicate with funders, partners, and Board leadership, and will bring a passion for neighborhood-based work to enrich the lives of youth, families, and the community. This in-person position is a great opportunity for a motivated individual to gain experience in non-profit communications and Board relations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Developing agency communication materials, including monthly Stories from the Field newsletters, social media postings, flyers, and invitations/holiday cards Receiving, processing, tracking, and acknowledging donations in our Little Green Light donor management system, including non-monetary gifts Supporting private donor fundraising activities, including an annual appeal, and two annual fundraising events. Assisting with staff retreat planning and any other events/activities as needed Managing the Center for Family Life website, including communicating with our support maintenance -provider on updates and changes Maintaining communication with members of CFL’s Board of Directors, helping to prepare materials, agendas, minutes, and reports for Board quarterly and committee meetings, and coordinating meeting logistics Scheduling meetings for the Senior Executive Team with donors and funders preparing for in-person site visits Supporting Senior Grants Manager and Grant Writer who maintain current public and private funding portfolios, by contributing content to proposals and reports, and assisting with the organization of grant submission materials Providing additional administrative support to the development department and agency as a whole as needed
Qualifications:
Education/Degree minimum requirement: Bachelor’s Degree 2+ years of relevant professional experience preferred, ideally in a non-profit communications department Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to take initiative with projects and work independently Highly organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks Benefits Benefits include Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance along with the opportunity to participate in additional voluntary life, disability, and 403B retirement plan with an employer match.
