Position Summary:
The Employee Communications and Engagement Manager is responsible for creating and implementing strategies that cultivate a positive, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture. This role focuses on enhancing internal communication, driving employee engagement initiatives, and enriching the overall employee experience. Additionally, the Manager supports the organization’s visibility and relationships by contributing to outreach, community involvement, and collaborative initiatives that reflect WellLife Network’s mission. They work closely with leadership, department managers, the Employee and Labor Relations team, and external partners to ensure employees feel valued, seen, and heard throughout their journey—while also helping to strengthen the organization’s presence in the broader community.
Essential Accountabilities:
INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS
Develop and manage internal communications across multiple channels (e.g., newsletters, intranet, email).
Ensure timely, clear, and consistent messaging aligned with WellLife Network’s mission and values.
EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT AND CULTURE BUILDING
Lead the Employee Engagement, “Funtervention” and Belonging Committee to cultivate a vibrant and inclusive workplace.
Plan and execute employee recognition programs, appreciation efforts, and team-building initiatives.
Collaborate with managers to foster a motivating and supportive environment.
Help to foster a sense of belonging through various agency wide initiatives and events
Support activities, initiatives, and employee groups that enhance workplace connection and belonging.
ONBOARDING AND NEW HIRE SUPPORT
Assist with new-hire orientation to ensure welcoming and informative onboarding experience.
Follow up with managers and new employees during probationary periods to provide guidance, resources, and mentorship.
PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT SUPPORT
Partner with managers to facilitate performance reviews and “Valued, Seen & Heard” check-ins.
Equip managers with tools to give effective feedback and celebrate employee contributions.
RETENTION AND EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
Collaborate with the Employee and Labor Relations team to monitor employee satisfaction, experience, and retention.
Assess engagement and feedback data to identify areas for continuous improvement.
Develop strategies that promote employee well-being, connection, and professional growth.
MEASUREMENT AND REPORTING
Track and evaluate the effectiveness of communication and engagement initiatives.
Use data to inform and refine strategies for improved employee experience and organizational visibility. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Human Resources, or related field.
Proven experience in employee communications, engagement, or HR-related roles.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to build relationships and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
Experience with performance management processes and employee retention strategies is a plus.
