Director, Government Relations Summary of Role:
The Associate plays a critical role in supporting the Government Relations team’s work to advance Carnegie Hall’s institutional priorities through strategic engagement with public officials and agencies. This role ensures the smooth daily operations of the department by coordinating internal workflows, facilitating cross-departmental collaboration, managing complex data and compliance systems, and supporting financial planning. The Operations Associate also contributes to the development of communications, events, and reporting that strengthen the institution’s public partnerships.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Financial Tracking and Compliance Oversight Track, manage, and forecast departmental finances in coordination with Development and Finance teams Support compliance and reporting requirements for lobbying activity and grants Administrative and Internal Operations Provide high-level administrative and logistical support to the Government Relations team through developing a team-wide workflow and coordinating across other departments Manage meeting logistics, including agenda preparation, research briefings, and calendar management for members of the Department Communication and Cultivation Draft and edit written materials aligned with Carnegie Hall’s strategic priorities, including emails, letters, and formal invitations Coordinate across departments to create service listings and internal briefings Constituent and Engagement Tracking Maintain accurate records related to public funding, engagement, and institutional credits Oversee data management for Government Relations in Tessitura, including recordkeeping, tagging, and reporting Event Planning and Execution Manage invitation lists, prepare and distribute invitations, and track RSVPs Prepare briefings for leadership and staff on expected government guests Review and tag constituent photos in institutional galleries to support post-event reporting and engagement To apply please submit a
