Job Summary Under the direction of the Director of Network/Telecom, the Telecommunications Manager is responsible for the overall integrity and viability of all customer voice, communication and Video systems where needed. The Telecommunications Manager will administer the PBX systems to include multiple PBXs. The position administers the various PBX media systems as well as their respective voice messaging systems including voice extensions, subscriber mailboxes, backups, reports, and automatic call distribution (ACD) software. The Telecommunications Manager advises departments regarding solutions and costs related to their telecommunication requests, has direct communication with telecommunication service providers. Works under the direct supervision of the Network Administrator. Duties and Responsibilities Assists in the design and implementation of phone systems including design and building of PBX systems. Must have working knowledge of voice topologies design and implementations. Conducts periodic reviews of voice systems strategies and supplies recommendations to the Network Administrator. Evaluates and recommends modern technologies including hardware and software. Schedules for preventative maintenance for all PBX and video systems as required. Manages security protocols and recommends changes to secure AH voice/video network. Has working knowledge security concepts including use of DMZ, expressways, PBX protocols, etc. to reduce AH’s vulnerability to cyber threats such as cyber threat events. Assists in implementing security devices to ensure security to prevent unauthorized access to AH systems/data. Is capable of working directly with vendors to specify recommendations and implement network and/or p.c.based business solutions. Documents and periodically updates a description of the voice/video systems to include inventory of hardware and software, topologies. Employee will be customercentered and compassionate. They will be able to communicate effectively. Teamwork and integrity are essential to this position. Is responsible for conducting audits of all systems for compliance with facility policies regarding software licenses/utilization. Prepares and monitors work orders to technical specifications via the Jira software package for moves, adds, and changes of all voice, video, and data, applying system software changes to effect work order requests as appropriate. Coordinates technicians to complete work order requests requiring installation, wiring, or other field work on a timely basis. Ensures security and proper utilization of resources by analyzing department equipment and line configurations to determine the most effective use of the media server equipment. Manages inventory and assures that departments are accurately charged for telecommunications equipment and services derived from work orders and trouble tickets by maintaining an adequate supply of inventory for moves, adds, changes, and repair work. Facilitates rapid response to telecommunication service calls by receiving trouble calls, reporting them to the appropriate telecommunications network agency for resolution, and verifying that telecommunication services have been restored. Processes vendor invoices and verifies charges are accurate. Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds. Remains competent and current through selfdirected professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses as required by the network administrator. Manages and maintains AH remote sites including PBX’s, voicemail, PRI’s, etc. Is responsible for attending all annual mandatory educational programs as required by position. Travel:

25% Skills & Qualifications Experience with Cisco Unified Communications systems. Knowledge of Telephony and wiring standards and practices. Knowledge of SIP protocol and uses. Knowledge of call center design and function. Knowledge of electronic and physical faxing. Education A bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field or equivalent work experience. Relevant certifications are desirable. Physical Requirements Finger dexterity, motor coordination, handtoeye coordination, color distinction, visual acuity, talking, sitting, handling, lifting, pushing, hearing, balancing, repetitive motions, stooping, bending, carrying, kneeling, clerical perception.
