Our Global Government Affairs office represents the company onimportant public policy issues around the world. Global GovernmentAffairs colleagues work with departments to advance theirinternational, U.S. federal and state policy agendas and supporttheir business priorities by engaging with legislators, governmentofficials, consumer leaders, business partners and tradeassociations. This position is responsible for managing issue areason behalf of the Company arising at the U.S. state and local level.
Here’s just some of what you’ll do in this role:
- In collaborationwith VP, State & Local Government Affairs, identify, assess andinfluence legislative and regulatory proposals across all USstates; support business development initiatives involving selectgovernment agencies.
- Work collaboratively across the enterprise.
Leverage skills and subject matter expertise among colleagues inGlobal Government Affairs and across other functions.
- Counselinternal business leaders on political dynamics and strategies toadvance public policy objectives.
- Manage external counsel andstrategically engage with trade associations and partnercoalitions.
- Develop and maintain constructive relationships withpublic officials and policy groups across the political spectrum.
- Create presentations and deliver critical information to internaland external stakeholders
- Promote an ethical culture includingbut not limited to compliance with applicable lobbying, campaignfinance and disclosure laws.
- Assess and implement best practicesfor industry-leading corporate government affairs program. MinimumQualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years of relevant experiencein state government affairs, preferably in a corporate or businessassociation environment Preferred Qualifications
- Multi-stateadvocacy experience
- Experience advocating in fast-pacedlegislative environment, managing corporate reputational risks inpursuit of business objectives, building relationships, draftingand providing legislative testimony
- Ability to interpret andapply law and regulation in a practical, hands-on, commonsensemanner
- Experience in financial services, information technology,or consumer-facing industries a plus
- Ability to handle multipletasks, take on new responsibilities and prioritize work in adynamic, deadline intensive environment
- Ability to gaincredibility, manage expectations, and develop strong workingrelationships with GCO colleagues and business clients; conveyclear advice to clients
- Ability to develop and deliver impactfulpresentations. PowerPoint a plus.
- High energy, team-oriented,self-starter, with excellent interpersonal and communication skillsand strong organizational and process-management skills
- Strongwork ethic and personal accountability
