JobDescription About The Position As the Vice President, Marketing andCommunications you will be the steward of KIPPs national voice andbrand. Youll lead a team that tells the story of who we are, whatwe stand for, and why it matters, reaching audiences from familiessearching for the right school to national leaders shaping thefuture of education. This role requires an exceptionalcommunicator, a data-driven marketer, and a collaborative leaderwith a deep commitment to educational equity. In this role, youwill set and execute a bold, unified vision for marketing andcommunications aligned with KIPPs mission and long-term goals. Thisinvolves engaging directly and frequently with the CEO and othermembers of the senior leadership team to define and executeexternal and internal messaging in a coordinated drumbeat. You willlead a team of communications, digital marketing, and creativemarketing professionals to create and deploy marketing campaignsfor external (families, prospective teachers, media) and internal(current network leadership and staff) audiences. As a key leaderwithin KIPP Foundation, the VP will contribute significantly toorganization-wide initiatives to drive student achievement gainsand “One KIPP” priorities. Reporting to the Chief DevelopmentOfficer, the ideal candidate runs toward bold vision, executes withprecision, leans into creative ideas, and confidently leadslaterally through impact and influence.

Responsibilities Marketingand Communications Strategy:

Set and Lead Multi-year StrategicVision Develop and execute a forward-looking, multiyear marketingand communications strategy aligned with KIPP Foundations 2030 Planand One KIPP priorities Partner in the design and implementation ofnetwork-wide efforts to define and express “what it means to beKIPP,” ensuring messaging reflects joy, rigor, and belonging acrosslines of difference

Brand Leadership:

Elevate and Steward the KIPPBrand Serve as chief architect and guardian of the KIPP brand,ensuring national messaging reflects a clear, resonant, anddifferentiated national brand, rooted in KIPPs values and identityIn the near term, clarify and elevate KIPPs value proposition tofamilies, students, alumni, educators, and partners byre-energizing the brand and our key messages Refresh and developbrand guidelines, storytelling toolkits, and shared messaging thatelevate the voices of students, families, and educators Partnerwith regional teams to develop creative and messaging, aligned withbrand strategy, and to bring consistency and creativity to KIPPsvisual and narrative identity across the country, focused on bothcurrent and prospective staff and family engagement

ExternalCommunications:

Elevate KIPPs Voice Build an integratedcommunications strategy for the KIPP Foundation, aligned withleadership priorities, and in collaboration with Development,Advocacy, Talent, and other teams, that aims to strengthennetwork-wide alignment, build relationships, and expand KIPPsinfluence Drive national visibility through high-impact mediaplacements, events, campaigns, podcasts, and thought leadershipopportunities that contribute significantly to KIPPs brand as anational leader in education Support regional leaders to moreeffectively communicate with families, staff, and media throughcrisis and complexity, through communications planning, contentreview, and brand-aligned templates Serve as a strategic advisor tosenior leadership on communications opportunities and risks, suchas internal communications, or guiding executives and regionalleaders during moments of risk with clarity, transparency, andcredibility

Internal Communications:

Ensure Alignment with OverallStrategy Ensure tight coordination between internal and externalmessaging, aligning media relations, executive visibility, andpublic storytelling with internal priorities and values Developstrategy to increase awareness, understanding, and support for OneKIPP priorities Lead the charge with cross-team colleagues todevelop messaging and coordinate dissemination across teamschannels

Creative Services:

Translate Strategy into PowerfulVisuals and Storytelling Partner with Data and Schools teams toidentify and prioritize storytelling opportunities that helpreinforce network-wide strategy, advance advocacy, driveenrollment, and increase fundraising Create content that changeshow people feel and think, across a variety of mediums, e.g., shortvideo from a classroom, a national op-ed shaping the educationconversation Oversee the production and promotion of compellingstories that foster engagement on KIPP.org and social mediaplatforms Oversee the production of collateral in service ofprogrammatic objectives, partnering with the Office of thePresident, Schools, and Talent teams to prioritize and producewell-designed materials that ensure visual and narrativeconsistency.

Enrollment Marketing:

Help Families Choose KIPP Leadnetwork-wide student recruitment strategy in alignment with

enrollment goals and sustainability priorities Oversee acentralized national advertising hub that strategically deploys amulti-million-dollar budget to drive enrollment in 20 regionsSupport regional recruitment and marketing capacity throughdata-informed guidance, creative campaigns, and aligned messagingtoolkits

Travelrequirements:

25-30% Location It is preferred, but not mandatoryfor this role to be based out of a KIPP Foundation office. Thisrole has the option of working from a remote office full-time. KIPPFoundation offices are in NYC and Chicago. Compensation andBenefits In compliance with local law, we are disclosing thecompensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations wherelegally required. Actual salaries will vary based on severalfactors, including but not limited to external market data,internal equity, and relevant experience. The salary range for thisposition is $190,000-$227,000. In addition, KIPP Foundationprovides a variety of benefits to employees, including: 25 holidaysfor 18 days additional flexible PTO days (flexible PTO increases to23 days for years 3 and 4 and to 28 days for years 5). 100% paidparental leave 100% coverage of the premium for employee and 75%for employee family’s medical/dental/vision plans.
