The Vice President, Brand Strategy is a leadership positionwithin the CG Life strategy group responsible for the developmentand implementation of strategic initiatives for clients in lifesciences and biopharma – in particular, supporting clients in therare disease and precision medicine space. This person enjoysworking in fast-paced environments and is motivated by thechallenge of creating compelling narratives that differentiate ourclients brands, products, and services in ways that are meaningfuland engaging for their audiences. This person is also motivated bythe opportunity to develop and mentor junior members of thestrategy team and others within the organization. The VP, BrandStrategy plays a key role in building and maintaining strong clientrelationships, leveraging their deep industry experience andexpertise to provide guidance and drive impactful strategicsolutions. They are also heavily involved in the agencys newbusiness development efforts, contributing to and presenting newbusiness proposals that align with CG Lifes growth goals.
Additionally, the VP, Brand Strategy collaborates closely withother department leads to research, build, enable, and advocate forpositioning and communication structures that form the basis forclient communication efforts. This includes creative campaigns,marketing messaging, content, public relations, sales collateral,and corporate communications. Their focus is on ensuring marketdifferentiation, customer relevance, and consistency of voiceacross all communication channels. Key Responsibilities, includingbut not limited to:
Business Impact:
Identifies opportunities andcan cross-sell CG Life’s capabilities to new business and currentclients Assists the Client Service team in determining the client’sofferings, strategic direction, and how to guide them towardachieving their goals Secures new strategic initiatives withexisting clients and prospects by developing and/or reviewing newbusiness proposals and presentations Extensive experience leadingor participating in new business efforts, including strategy andpitch story flow development Responsible for organic growthinitiatives/opportunities, financial or otherwise, on a definedindustry segment or client portfolio while meeting/exceedingrevenue goals Establishes the agency’s role as a trusted andstrategic-minded partner while owning and managing the day-to-dayclient strategy and relationship for multiple accounts
IndustryExpertise:
Acts as an agency resource and consultant for a range ofstrategic initiatives, including positioning, analytics, internalengagement, communications strategy, creative brief development,and brand planning ideation Champions the use of agency strategydevelopment methodologies/tools/processes and has deep experiencecollaborating with Digital and Engagement strategy leaders withinthe organization Broad experience working with scientific experts(internal or external) and translating science into strategicoutputs for clients Provides leadership and guidance to internalteams based on the strategy, brief, and knowledge of the client andits industry Independently develops strategy decks and otherrelevant outputs based on discovery activities, research outputs,and other client-provided background documents Leads clientworkshops and discovery sessions (either onsite or online) toadvance a range of client and strategy deliverables Stays currenton evolving platforms, trends, and implications for clientstrategies
Leadership:
Creates and directs innovative andthoughtful strategic solutions to complex communication challengeson behalf of clients Champions the role of strategy to establishstrong and successful brands and to inspire and support thedevelopment of creative ideas Establishes sound and effectiveworking relationships internally and with clients Leads andfacilitates (with the Account team) planning efforts for clientsDrives the development of compelling, single-minded strategies andbriefs Proactively develops recommendations in partnership with theClient Service team based on discovery findings, client intentions,and key audience insights, then validates positions through testingwith customers and internal stakeholders (if needed)
Communication:
Demonstrates success at working with cross-functional teams andbuilding strong internal and external relationships Able tocommunicate and defend strategic recommendations to the clientEffectively leads client meetings and presentations on keystakeholder interview findings, competitive audit findings,positioning, and/or communication strategy People Management Manageand mentor other team members, responsible for goal setting,performance management, career growth, etc. Recognizes staffpotential and guides employees in identifying challenging andstretching tasks based on interests and organizational needs toachieve career goals Monitors the progress of direct reports andstays involved with their development by being a good source offeedback, guidance, and encouragement
Requirements Qualificationsand Skills:
Ability to identify and pursue growth opportunities toexpand strategic services to clients Strong leadership and proventeam management skills Excellent communication and interpersonalskills Demonstrated experience developing and implementingstrategic communications programs in the healthcare and lifesciences sectors to raise the visibility of brands, products,technologies, and client thought leaders Extensive experience withclient-facing presence and interaction with C-Suite level What Wewill be Looking for: 10 years of experience in strategic planningor brand management in pharma, life sciences, or healthcare agencyor a similar healthcare/biopharma organization Proven experience inleading and managing teams, providing strategic direction, andfostering a collaborative environment Experience building andmaintaining strong client relationships, understanding clientneeds, and leading the development of strategic initiatives thatexceed expectations Experience driving thought leadership instrategic planning and marketing approaches for life science orhealthcare clients – rare disease experience is a plus

As required by law in this state,the estimated salary range for this position is $160,000 – $180,000and represents our good faith estimate as to what our idealcandidates are likely to expect. At CG Life, it is not common forindividuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, andcompensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. Thisposition is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonusprogram, subject to the rules governing the plan.
