The Marketing and Communications Manager for the MUSC College of Graduate Studies is responsible for developing, executing, and managing strategic marketing, communications, and alumni engagement efforts to enhance the College’s visibility, reputation, and relationships with key stakeholders, including prospective students, current students, faculty, alumni, and external partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
3-5 years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably within higher education or academic programs.
Expertise in digital marketing, social media management, and content creation.
Strong project management, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Experience in alumni relations and external stakeholder engagement is a plus.
Duties:
Marketing Strategy & Brand Management (30%) Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans to promote graduate programs.
Maintain brand standards across all platforms and communications.
Analyze market trends and enrollment data to refine marketing strategies. Digital & Content Strategy (25%) Manage the College’s website content and optimize for engagement and recruitment.
Oversee social media strategy and execution, ensuring consistent and engaging content.
Develop multimedia campaigns, including email marketing, videos, and publications. Public Relations & Stakeholder Engagement (15%) Craft press releases, news stories, and feature articles to highlight faculty, research, and student achievements.
Coordinate media relations and outreach to external organizations.
Work closely with university communications teams to align messaging. Alumni Affairs & Community Engagement (20%) Develop strategies to strengthen alumni relationships and involvement.
Organize alumni events, networking opportunities, and mentorship programs.
Manage alumni communications, including newsletters and fundraising efforts. Event Planning & Internal Communications (10%) Support College events, including graduate orientation, recruitment fairs, and symposiums.
Ensure effective internal communications between faculty, staff, and students.
Collaborate with academic leadership to communicate College goals and initiatives.
