Job Description

Director of Community Arts Development Orangeburg County Fine Arts Center Orangeburg, SC 29115 Overview The Development Director plays a crucial role in driving the mission and vision of our organization forward. This position is responsible for overseeing all fundraising initiatives, managing donor relationships, and ensuring the sustainability of our programs through effective development strategies. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for community engagement, and a proven track record in development and fundraising. Duties Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet organizational goals. Identify Community Development activities and initiatives pertinent to the vision and mission of the OCFAC. Membership building – Identifying and soliciting new memberships Membership Brochure creation and distribution Participate in community initiatives as well as regional, state, business and economic related activities Work with elected officials, educational, and community leaders in concert with the Executive Director. Assist with grant applications Complete and review grant applications as needed. Responsible for preparing marketing and public relations matters relative to OCFAC to include advertisements, announcements, marketing materials, press releases, etc. Prepare newsletter Develop OCFAC branding consistent with vision and mission of OCFAC. Ensure consistency with OCFAC branding across all mediums. Website design and management Maintenance and updates to website Maintenance and updates to all social media platforms Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from a university; advanced degree preferred. Proven experience in development or fundraising roles with a strong understanding of best practices in volunteer management. Excellent research skills to identify potential donors and funding opportunities. Strong public relations skills to effectively represent the organization in various forums. Exceptional proposal writing abilities to create persuasive funding requests that align with organizational goals. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
