Nashville Rescue Mission is actively seeking an Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications to join our Development team. The Assistant Director is responsible for supporting and executing marketing communications that align with the mission and vision of Nashville Rescue Mission. The Assistant Director plays a key leadership role in developing, executing, and evaluating strategic marketing initiatives that support the mission and vision of Nashville Rescue Mission. Working closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications, this role helps oversee brand integrity, multi-channel campaigns, donor engagement content, and direct response strategy. The ideal candidate will bring both creative and analytical skills, strong project management experience, a heart for the ministry of Nashville Rescue Mission, and can uphold the Mission Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct.
Position Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Oversight Collaborate with the Director to develop and implement annual marketing plans, calendars, and campaign strategies. Lead cross-functional communication efforts aligned with development, programs, and volunteer teams. Help ensure messaging consistency and alignment across all platforms and materials. Content & Creative Direction Oversee content planning, creation, and execution for web, email, print, and social media campaigns. Review and approve key marketing materials to ensure quality, accuracy, and alignment with brand voice. Supervise content calendar execution and collaborate with designers, writers, and videographers as needed. Digital & Social Media Management Guide and monitor the execution of digital marketing efforts, including email marketing, social media, donation pages, blog posts, and SEO initiatives. Oversee strategy for audience growth and engagement on all digital platforms. Analyze performance data and adjust strategies to optimize engagement and reach. Contribute to front-end website updates and optimization efforts aimed at improving user experience and donor engagement; support in-house implementation of routine changes to enhance agility, efficiency, and alignment with digital strategy (reserving complex development for external partners as needed). Team Leadership & Collaboration Serve as a liaison between the marketing department and internal stakeholders as needed. Assist in managing vendor relationships and contracts for creative services, advertising, and promotional materials. Reporting & Analytics Compile, review, and present monthly analytics and performance metrics. Use data insights to recommend improvements to campaigns and content. Brand & Public Relations Support Help uphold and steward the Nashville Rescue Mission brand across all channels. Support PR initiatives, including media outreach and response coordination. Assist with storytelling that highlights the Mission’s impact and ministry work. Other Responsibilities Participate in special events, pre- and post-event promotion, and media opportunities as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, or communications 3-5 years of marketing experience Supports the Mission Statement and Values of the Nashville Rescue Mission Awareness and heart for the ministry work of Nashville Rescue Mission Prior experience with a wide range of marketing functions including communications, advertising, branding, digital marketing, and social media Ability to take initiative and think critically Excellent written and verbal communication skills Organized multitasker able to handle deadlines Skills in video storytelling, campaign analytics, and donor communications Working knowledge of email segmentation and social listening tools Proficiency in Adobe Suite Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of photography (Nikon or Canon) Ability to maintain confidentiality of all donor, resident, employee, and operations data Adheres to the standards as set forth by CityGate and ECFA This position can be expected to work some holidays and/or weekends Preferred Qualifications Experience in nonprofit or faith-based organizations.
