Full Job Description Qualifications, Skills, Gifts:
Previous experience working in an office environment preferred. Experience working with a church or non-profit would be advantageous. Must be committed to the vision, values, and beliefs of Grace UMC. Should demonstrate evidence of a Christ-like attitude in words and actions. Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated. Should be able to recruit, manage, and encourage a team of volunteers. Must have good organizational skills. Requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work with the church staff, congregants, and the community. Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a maturing faith, and an understanding of the United Methodist doctrine.
Time Requirements:
This is a part-time salaried position requiring 25 hours of work each week. The base office hours schedule is Monday to Friday, 9am to 2pm, but are flexible. This position includes two weeks paid vacation.
Description of Typical Duties:
Recruit, develop, and supervise a team of volunteers to assist with the communication functions within the church Manage and respond to incoming communication via e-mail, Facebook, and phone Compile weekly prayer requests Sunday service prep to include sermon and announcement slides (ProPresenter), production of the Worship Bulletin and inserts (MS Publisher), pew pads, bulletin boards Collect weekly service information to submit to the District Meet weekly with the pastor to go over upcoming events and programming, calendar, and congregation updates; debrief from Worship Assist with quarterly and sermon series branding Update and maintain the Grace online presence and social media Create and distribute weekly newsletter (MailChimp) Assist Administrative and Ministry Team Leads with information requests Attend Church Council meetings and monthly staff meetings Manage and produce
District Reports:
Charge Conference and Year End Local Church Report Coordinate the use of facilities through coordination with groups while managing the facilities calendars and key requests.

Senior Pastor and Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC)
About Grace UMC:
Grace UMC is a growing church in a growing community. We regularly have close to 300 in worship each Sunday and currently offer two services. We are blessed with a wonderful staff and enthusiastic volunteers. We are conveniently located in Huntsville, but close to the Monrovia, Harvest, and Madison communities.
