Job Description

The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for managing the church’s variouscommunication channels and providing essential administrative support to ensure the smoothoperation of our office. This role requires a blend of independent initiative and collaborativespirit, with an emphasis on proactive problem-solving and the ability to learn from experienceto streamline processes and reuse content.

Major Responsibilities:

? Proactively plans, creates, and executes timely and effective communications inconsultation with the pastor, teams, and volunteers, ensuring alignment with churchgoals and appropriately addressing the needs and concerns of intended audiences? Maintains church calendar(s), coordinating with staff and teams for eventscheduling.? Organizes, edits, and distributes electronic and paper newsletters, (e.g., weekly,monthly, bi-monthly), weekly worship related support materials, brochures, annualreport and other occasional documents.? Updates and maintains related content on the churchs website, Facebook page,Google Drive, etc.? Explore and identify ways to enhance communication, collaboration, contentcreation.? Ensures callers and visitors feel welcomed and are connected to the appropriatepeople and resources.? Effectively organizes, documents files and data; and manages and continuouslyimproves related tasks and processes.? Updates and maintains congregant and visitor information in the primary contactdatabase.? Orders related supplies and services for the church (e.g., paper, ink, postage, etc.)and manages inventory.? Documents associated tasks, processes, policies, and practices to fostercollaboration.? Maintain proficiency with administrative systems and technologies (e.g., copier,phones), serving as a primary contact for troubleshooting minor issues.

Proactively and creatively problem-solve, anticipating communication needs andproposing solutions.? Collaborate, coordinate, and work effectively with various church stakeholders.? Work independently with minimal supervision, taking initiative to manage tasks andprojects.? Prioritize requests, manage multiple deadlines effectively, and seek clarificationwhen needed.? Honor confidentiality and model healthy communication practices.? Help improve and adapt tasks and processes to enhance effectiveness andefficiency.? Demonstrate an aptitude for quickly learning new technologies.? Learn from past experiences and adapt content and processes for future use,ensuring consistency.? Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (especially MS Word), Google Drive/Docs,content creation such as Canva or PowerPoint, and using/posting to Social Media.
