JOB DESCRIPTION

Strategic Communications Management

  • Collaborate with relevant campus units for coordinated communications related to campus-wide facilities management and sustainability efforts
  • Develop, implement, manage and evaluate long-term strategies for communications, including but not limited to social media campaigns, student/staff/faculty engagement, and community outreach
  • Coordinate communication and correspondence from internal and external inquiries about facilities management or sustainability related topics on behalf of the division
  • Develop materials and content for presentations on campus, in the community, and at local/regional/national conferences
  • Ensure alignment of the office’s communications strategy with larger institutional goals, standards and best practices
    Graphic Design & Multimedia Production
  • Design, produce, and edit content for division communications outlets (e.g. website, newsletter, reports, presentations, and social media sites)
  • Develop printed and electronic promotional materials, reports, and infographics
  • Produce and/or edit multimedia content including photography, videos and animated graphics
  • Work with printers/vendors to obtain quotes, supply appropriate pre-press files, and review/approve proofs for printed items or promotional materials
  • Serve as a point-of-contact in office for best practices related to the UF brand standards
    Web site Management
  • Manage division website information (Facilities Services and Office of Sustainability), layout and design in coordination with Business Affairs Technical Services
  • Keep abreast of new technologies, policies and standards that are advocated by UFIT
    Event and Outreach Support
  • Design event support materials (logos, flyers, promotional items, etc.)
  • Attend events to gather photo and video content for division communications
    Other duties:
    As assigned and prioritized by the supervisor
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE

Monday through Friday, 08:00 a.m. until 05:00 p.m.
A criminal background will be completed.

EXPECTED SALARY

$50,000.00 to $55,000.00 Annually based on experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED
  • Knowledge of/interest in facilities management and/or sustainability principles
  • Experience with email mass-communication/marketing software/packages (e.g. Constant Contact, MailChimp)
  • Proficiency in website development and Content Management Systems (e.g. HTML, WordPress, TerminalFour, etc.)
  • Experience with graphic design and proficiency in design principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, etc.)
  • Proficiency in managing social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook.
  • Experience with producing and editing video and photography
  • Experience with website and social media statistical reporting/analytics
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster a cooperative work environment and work effectively within a large community.
  • Ability to carry out multiple projects with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, ability to work independently and possess problem-solving capabilities.
