The Certification Department coordinates all aspects of the board certification process for multiple medical specialties. The Certification Credentialing & Communications Coordinator is responsible for ensuring all current and potential applicants for certification and recertification meet eligibility and application requirements and responds to all inquiries regarding the certification and recertification processes. The Certification Credentialing & Communications Coordinator is responsible for managing the application and certification processes including, but not limited to:
- Responding to customer queries by phone and email about the certification process, requirements, and fees.
- Reviewing applications for completion, and coordination of required credentialing and background checks for all applicants.
- Communicating with current applicants about needed application elements, upcoming test administrations, and deadlines.
- Assist with preparing and mailing examination results.
- Assist with examination administrations, as needed.
- Assuring the accuracy of database records.
- Assisting with other certification tasks as needed. The individual will also serve as staff liaison to one or more ABPS boards of certification or committees, which includes facilitating meetings, preparing agendas, minutes, etc. Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent related work experience)
- Minimum 24 months verifiable work history/experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams, as well as Adobe Acrobat/AdobeSign
- Strong attention to detail, ability to work with moderate supervision and good time management skills in managing multiple tasks and projects while meeting key deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to resolve customer concerns and represent the organization
- Experience with electronic records (e.g. data extraction, export, mail merge)
- Compliance with security and privacy of personal and confidential information policies
- Position is primarily remote but accessibility to the Tampa office is required
- Criminal background check, reference checks, credit check and drug screen may be required Well-qualified candidates will also have:
- Previous experience with medical credentialing
- Previous customer service or member services experience
- Previous experience with Protech, iMIS, or other certification management software a plus
