The Telecommunications Specialist will support all business units within Mosaic Health and is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the organization’s telecommunication systems, including VoIP, PBX, mobile devices, conferencing solutions, and network connectivity. This role ensures reliable voice and data communication services, troubleshooting issues, managing vendor relationships, and supporting the integration of telecom technologies with enterprise IT systems. The Telecom Specialist works closely with IT, network, and security teams to enhance communication infrastructure, ensure compliance with industry standards, and support business operations effectively. Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain telecom systems, including VoIP, PBX, SIP trunks, call centers, and mobile device management (MDM). Monitor and troubleshoot telecom issues, ensuring high availability and quality of service (QoS) for voice and video communication. Support unified communication platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, Zoom, or RingCentral. Manage and optimize call routing, IVR (Interactive Voice Response) systems, and auto-attendants. Work with network teams to optimize bandwidth utilization and ensure seamless voice and data integration. Assist with telecom security policies, implementing measures to protect against fraud, spam calls, and security vulnerabilities. Manage telecom contracts, vendor relationships, and service agreements, ensuring cost-effective solutions. Track telecom assets, licenses, and usage, providing reports on system performance and cost analysis. Participate in telecom projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new deployments. Ensure compliance with
HIPAA, FCC
regulations, and enterprise security policies. Provide user training and support for telecom and conferencing systems. Stay up to date with emerging telecom technologies and best practices. Demonstrate excellent guest service to internal team members and patients. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of experience in telecom administration, VoIP systems, or enterprise telephony. Strong experience with VoIP solutions (Cisco, RingCentral, etc.) and cloud-based telecom services. Knowledge of SIP, PRI, PBX, QoS, and telecom network architecture. Experience with unified communications platforms (Microsoft Teams, Webex, Zoom, or similar). Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM) solutions. Understanding of telecom security, encryption, and compliance requirements. Ability to troubleshoot voice, video, and data communication issues effectively. Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
Certifications preferred:
Cisco CCNA Collaboration, Avaya Certified Specialist, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
