Job Summary:

Communications Associate, Disney Programs The Disney Programs Communications team is focused on enhancing and supporting the experience for Disney College, Culinary and International Program participants, partnering with operations teams, key stakeholders and Programs and housing partners to share communication directly with incoming and current participants. The team also supports the reputation and brand management of Disney Programs, including telling the stories of our participants and communicating information and news across both internal and external platforms. The Communications Associate is responsible for supporting the overarching communication strategy for Disney Programs, partnering closely with various teams to brainstorm and execute communication content. The ideal candidate should have a strong attention to detail, a passion for storytelling and excellent writing and proofreading skills. Prior participation in a Disney College Program is a plus. In order to be considered for this position, you must submit an electronic portfolio with your application. Responsibilities Draft both long and short form written content including emails, blog posts, social media captions, video scripts and print materials. Update and maintain digital content for Disney Programs internal and external websites using content management systems such as WordPress. Closely support the Communications Specialist and Manager, Communications on a range of different projects and collaborate with them on communications plans to ensure we tell our Disney Programs story in the most engaging, inclusive and creative ways. Display an understanding of Adobe Creative Suite to create compelling creative for a variety of digital channels including web, social media and email in collaboration with the team’s Graphic Designer. Assist the Content Producer with production for video and photoshoots as needed. Brainstorm and strategize with the Disney Programs team and key internal and external partners on different communications projects for varying business needs. Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Maintain social media editorial calendars and plan and schedule posts using social media scheduling tools. Ensure all communications work adheres to company standards and brand guidelines. Assist in updating and maintaining digital asset libraries to ensure easy access to the most up-to-date resources. Support program events, including arrivals and end-of-program capstone events as needed. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or related. 2-3+ years in a communications role or equivalent. Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of relevant work. Proficiency in AP-style writing. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. A self-starter with a problem-solving mindset and a dedication to ongoing learning and development. Knowledge and familiarity of different communication channels including web, social media and email. Relentless attention to detail and exceptional proofreading skills. Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite. Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS. Ability to take direction from multiple stakeholders, balance numerous projects simultaneously, prioritize deadlines and effectively work in a fast-paced environment. A passion for the cast member/employee experience and a drive to help support and contribute to creating a positive, meaningful program for our participants. Preferred Qualifications Experience using website content management systems such as WordPress. Experience with SEO principles and best practices for web content. Basic understanding of analytics tools (Adobe Analytics, etc.) to evaluate and track website performance and engagement. Previous participation in a Disney College Program.
