Established by the Tampa Bay Partnership with start- up funding from the Florida Blue Foundation, this coalition focuses on convening partners, providing reliable data and best practices to partners, collaborating across sectors, advocating for common sense policy, and funding changes, and educating ourselves and our communities.
Position Summary:
The Communications and Community Liaison will lead marketing and communications efforts (65% of the role) while also serving as a community liaison (35%) to build and support partnerships with stakeholders across Hernando and Citrus counties. The ideal candidate will have effective communication skills, a passion for community engagement, and a commitment to reducing the number of overdoses in our Tampa Bay community. This hybrid role requires the ability to work remotely with regular local travel and occasional travel to other counties within Live Tampa Bay’s region. Key Responsibilities Communications (65%)
- Implement marketing and communication strategies to promote opioid overdose prevention efforts.
- Maintain and update Live Tampa Bay’s website and social media platforms with timely and accurate content.
- Create professional content (flyers, newsletters, toolkits, event announcements) using Canva or similar design tools.
- Coordinate and promote monthly webinars.
- Develop and maintain a yearly calendar of local and national events for communication and programming purposes.
- Execute communication strategies.
- Identify evidence-based resources and subject matter experts for community-based organizations and stakeholders.
- Assist with monitoring and analyzing communication metrics, making strategic recommendations to increase engagement and reach.
- Provide communications support for Live Tampa Bay initiatives.
- Assist with the development of monthly program reports. Key Responsibilities Community Outreach (35%)
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, including law enforcement, businesses, peer support organizations, and faith-based leaders in Hernando and Citrus counties.
- Coordinate and facilitate regular partner meetings to share information and identify opportunities for collaboration.
- Represent Live Tampa Bay at local events, meetings, and outreach activities to promote the organization’s mission and the development of strategic partnerships to reduce the number of overdose deaths.
- Provide naloxone kits and training information to community partners to support overdose reversal efforts.
- Assist with implementing Live Tampa Bay’s programs through community engagement and partnership development. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of professional experience in marketing and communications, public health, community organizing, or a related field.
- Advanced experience in public outreach and relationship management.
- Proficient in Canva and basic web management (WordPress or similar platforms).
- Proficient in social media management platforms
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage time effectively.
- Valid Florida driver’s license and ability to travel locally.
- Compassion for individuals impacted by addiction and commitment to reducing stigma.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Spanish fluency, both written and spoken.
- Certification in recovery peer support (CRPS) or the ability to become certified is a plus.
- Experience with behavioral health or recovery community organizations.
- Experience with project management.
