Examples of Duties This position works in partnership with the communications & marketing department at New College in coordinating a communication and marketing program designed to further the Foundation’s strategic goals and increase visibility among key audiences. Develop engaging content (photos, videos, blogs, and graphics) to promote the New College Foundation, manage and schedule social media posts across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.), assist in developing digital and print marketing materials, including brochures and email campaigns, assist in creating compelling stories and campaigns to highlight fundraising initiatives, design promotional materials for donor events, campaigns, and engagement efforts, Capture and edit photos/videos from fundraising events to be used for social media and promotional use, Support donor engagement efforts through digital outreach and marketing strategies, Work closely with the foundation team to align messaging and branding across all materials. Exercises sound judgment and demonstrates ability to recognize and place newsworthy stories. This person must be a strong writer across multiple platforms, including for website and social media purposes. This position also assists the VP of Advancement in administrative tasks and other miscellaneous matters as they arise. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in related field (communications, public relations, English) and five years of professional experience in media or public relations; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with news media in print, TV, radio, and/or the Web, and the ability to select the appropriate media for the message. Exceptional writing skills in different styles (i.e., reporting, feature writing, expository, and persuasive). Demonstrated proficiency and resourcefulness in the use of all media formats, including new media, or social media, as well as traditional print and broadcast. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly basic photo and video editing experience. Supporting the marketing, branding, and promotional efforts of New College of Florida’s wedding and event business, as well as fundraising initiatives for the university’s foundation. This position offers hands-on experience in content creation, digital marketing, social media strategy, and event promotion while contributing to real-world projects that enhance the visibility and success of both ventures.
