JOB SUMMARY

This position serves as the onsite media official at selected Tour events, contributes to tournament coverage and creates and maintains relationships with current and emerging media endemics and LPGA Tour members. This position is responsible for the day-to-day functions of the Communications Department and oversees the onsite tournament media experience. This position will report to the Manager, Communications along with the VP, Communications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Schedules, manages and conducts press conferences and post round interviews, both on-site and virtual.
  • Arranges one-on-one interviews for players with the media, both on-site and virtual.
  • Manage and coordinate requests across national and international media platforms.
  • Writes and publishes various communications related documents such as daily notes packages, press releases, feature stories, statistical updates, player guides and bios, etc.
  • Update LPGA Tour resource information on a weekly basis for media consumption, including the LPGA Tour Online Media Center.
  • Works directly with tournament teams, local associated PR teams and media directors to ensure maximum exposure for selected events, enhance the onsite media experience and be an LPGA Tour resource for local, national, and global media organizations.
  • Contribute to targeted media pitching to elevate the LPGA Tour brand.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Content team to amplify PR/Communications content.
  • Maintain a constant and growing knowledge of the LPGA organization, LPGA Tour athletes and Tour storylines.
  • Generate regular reports that monitor and summarize LPGA Tour coverage.
  • Assigned to special projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Sports Management, Journalism, or related field required
  • Golf background desirable
  • Fluency (reading/writing/speaking) in English; additional language knowledge a plus.
  • Must be able to travel (international and domestic) extensively for extended periods of time; 15 – 20 weeks of travel required per year.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office programs and have working knowledge of utilizing Box.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently on a team in a multi-faceted and deadline-driven atmosphere.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively develop and maintain relationships with organizational teammates, LPGA Tour players, agents, tournament teams, external partners, national and global media members.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills as well as attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines to prepare for multiple tournaments on a week-to-week basis.
  • Ability and willingness to gain expertise and perform in new areas.
