Job Description
Job Summary The GPC Strategic Communications Specialist supports day-to-day communications while contributing to the development and execution of initiatives that enhance our global strategy, culture and business goals. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of External Communications, this individual will be a key member of the GPC Global Strategic Communications team. This role will focus on creating, managing and distributing engaging content across various channels—including corporate website, social media, email, newsletters, intranet and other digital platforms. This individual will work closely with the internal communications team and collaborate with internal and external partners around the globe to align communications with One GPC initiatives, support brand initiatives, monitor external media platforms and provide hands-on support. Responsibilities Create and manage engaging, multi-channel content that supports internal and external teams, aligns with our company goals and enhances audience engagement. Engage with global partners to gather and manage content for monthly meetings, social collaborations and other One GPC initiatives, fostering alignment and teamwork across regions. Support external and internal content by capturing high-quality photography during events, meetings and engagements, maintaining professionalism and ease in interactions with C-suite executives. Oversee brand management by reviewing and ensuring all content rigorously adheres to brand guidelines, including the company’s voice, values and messaging standards across all channels. Facilitate merchandise orders with multiple vendors while maintaining consistency across all communications and promotional materials. Process and track invoices for the communications team, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and on-time payment. Monitor and audit external media platforms to identify mentions, track negative sentiments and promptly escalate relevant findings to appropriate leadership. Provide support for campus events as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, marketing or a related field. 3+ years’ experience in writing, proofing and/or editing content in a corporate or agency environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, prioritizing clarity and conciseness. Understanding of AP style and other formatting guidelines. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint and other collaboration and productivity tools, with strong organizational skills to manage files and workflows effectively. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and build positive relationships. Creativity in developing communications across both traditional and digital platforms. A balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with the ability to generate ideas and see them through from start to finish. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, marketing or similar fields. Experience with corporate communications in a team-based or global or organization. 3-5 years’ experience in writing, proofing and/or editing content in a corporate, agency or professional environment. Expertise in photography, including capturing high-quality images for use across digital and print platforms, is a plus.
