YOUR IMPACT
As a Communications Coordinator for the Publishing team, you’ll join a group of publishing professionals within the McKinsey Global Publishing (MGP) team, which is part of the firm’s Reach and Engagement function. Our publishing team focuses on supporting McKinsey authors to develop powerful editorial products that will engage the firm’s diverse global audience. You’ll work with experienced McKinsey colleagues from around the world to develop and publish distinctive content across an array of digital and print platforms.
As a Communications Coordinator, you will provide key communications, administrative, and organizational support to the Global Publishing Function. The day-to-day management you provide is critical in supporting the Firm’s ambitious publishing goals.
You will:
Monitor and manage the McKinsey Reprints inbox, including timely handling of requests for permission to republish or reprint an article or excerpted exhibit, or use of video
Monitor and manage the McKinsey.com Customer Support inbox including timely handling of incoming requests for password reset, deletion of accounts etc., that are time sensitive
Assist in the planning and running monthly Global Publishing meetings, including coordinating meeting schedules, sending calendar invitations, managing pre- and post-reads, and providing real-time support for presenters on the call
Support the execution of people and talent initiatives, including but not limited to onboarding new team members, maintaining the group’s org chart, organizing and overseeing the logistics for team events, and analyzing and drafting takeaways for employee engagement surveys
Manage all Global Publishing team spending and expense submissions
Manage Global Publishing’s subscriptions to external publications and resources (eg, newspapers, magazines, style guides) including renewal payments and expense processing
Work closely with T&E colleagues to maintain and manage activities related to physical distribution of the McKinsey Quarterly, the firm’s flagship publication, including single-distribution channels (to clients) and bulk distribution (via McKinsey offices), liaising with our printer in Chicago
Help manage author survey data collection and assist with reporting efforts to gauge content impact and procure author feedback
Help manage relationships with external agencies (eg, vendors that provide editorial, production, and data-visualization support), ensuring contracts and NDAs are current and accessible if needed

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Bachelor’s/university degree required years of experience in print and/or digital publishing for an English-language business publication or at a professional-services firm
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint) and team share tools (eg, Box, SharePoint, Slack, Zoom)
Strong project management skills (eg, the ability to meet short- and long-term deadlines and steer an effort through to completion)
Strong communication skills (oral, written, presentation)
Strong problem-solving skills
High attention to detail
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to work independently in a low-structure environment and to deal with ambiguity; willingness to proactively seek guidance
Positive attitude, collaborative working style, and team orientation
Proficiency and fluency in verbal and written English is required; other language skills are a plus and/or potential requirement for specific region-focused roles
