JOB SUMMARY
The LAC Communications Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all communications, marketing, and promotional efforts for the Lawrenceville Arts Center (LAC). This role serves as the primary onsite communications liaison, ensuring that programming, events, and initiatives are effectively promoted through social media, digital signage, and other marketing channels. The coordinator functions as a part of the City’s Communications Department and will collaborate heavily with the City Events Team and external partners to enhance visibility and community engagement.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES MAJOR DUTIES
Marketing, Social Media & Digital StrategyCreate marketing materials, including digital and print collateral, press releases, and promotional content for City-sponsored LAC events, programs, and initiatives.
Coordinate with external marketing and advertising/PR agencies on LAC-related projects and campaigns as directed by the Director of Marketing.
Ensure brand consistency and adherence to City and LAC branding guidelines in all promotional materials utilized by the LAC.Support media relations, including press outreach, interviews, and press event coordination, under the Director of Marketing’s guidance.
Manage targeted marketing campaigns using multiple databases to optimize outreach and audience engagement.
Develop, manage, and execute social media strategies for the LAC, ensuring alignment with the City’s overall communications objectives.
Oversee and manage content on all internal digital screens and external jumbotron, ensuring timely and accurate updates. Collaborate with the City Webmaster to update and maintain the LAC website with accurate and engaging content in alignment with the City’s overall communications objectives.
Manage LAC social media, responding to inquiries and collaborating with the City’s Social Media Specialist for brand consistency.
Track and report key performance metrics for digital engagement, social media growth, and marketing campaigns, adjusting as required. Collaboration & CoordinationIn coordination with the Director of Marketing, execute the LAC elements of the annual communications plan.
Collaborate with the City Events Team to market City-sponsored LAC events.
Assist third-party renters in utilizing LAC digital signage, social media promotion, and marketing as appropriate.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the Director of Marketing, Chief Communications Officer, and Director of Community & Economic Development, to develop strategic communication initiatives for the LAC.Other duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION SUPERVISORY
CONTROLSThe LAC Communications Coordinator reports to the Director of Marketing and works closely with the Chief Communications Officer and the Director of Community & Economic Development. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures and the nature and propriety of the final results.
GUIDELINESThese guidelines require judgment, selection, and interpretation in application. Adherence to City and department policies and procedures.
Consistence with City branding and marketing standards.
Compliance with best practices in digital marketing and public engagement.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF
WORKWork consists of varied marketing and public relations duties requiring coordination with multiple stakeholders.
This role directly contributes to the successful delivery of messaging and information to the public and enhances community engagement with the LAC.

Marketing and PR agencies, news media, third-party event organizers, the general public.

Exchange information, promote engagement, resolve issues, and provide marketing support.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK
ENVIRONMENTThe work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, walking, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects and uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.
The work is typically performed in an office, occasionally in cold or inclement weather, as this position works in the LAC and alongside the City Events Team.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in communications, social media management, marketing, or a related role.
Strong understanding of digital marketing, content creation, and social media strategy.
Proficiency in graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.), content management systems, and digital signage management.
Experience in event promotion and media relations preferred.
Experience managing digital signage and working with event promotion is preferred.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
