Senior Communications Director Position Summary:
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Temporary Communications Specialist to support our North & South Gas Communications Team from May through August. This role is ideal for someone with strong graphic design skills (Canva and Adobe Creative Suite), excellent writing ability, and a passion for creating engaging content for both internal communications, external audiences, and social media. Experience managing multiple clients in an agency setting or separate business units or companies as an inhouse communications/marketing professional is preferred. The Temporary Communications Specialist will play a key role in designing materials aligned with brand guidelines, writing content for internal newsletters and the intranet for multiple operating companies, and supporting the development of digital media content. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced communications environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and produce internal and external communication materials such as: Flyers, digital signage, and apparel Digital media graphics and templates Internal campaign visuals and collateral Write, edit, and publish content for: Internal newsletters and announcements Intranet stories and employee features Captions and content for digital media platforms Capture or source visual assets (images, short videos) for use across platforms Ensure consistency with brand voice, style, and visual identity in all communications Collaborate with team members to brainstorm and contribute creative ideas for campaigns and content Stay current with trends in internal communications and digital design
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Proficiency in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail Strong command of grammar, spelling, and punctuation, with the ability to write in a clear, approachable, and brand-consistent voice Experience with modern Sharepoint intranets and the ability to post and build pages Experience using web-based email service provider software (such as Constant Contact) Ability to quickly learn new tools, processes, and brand guidelines, and follow directions with attention to detail with minimal oversight Experience creating content for social media and/or internal communications Ability to work from templates or create original designs aligned with brand guidelines Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills Comfortable balancing multiple priorities and deadlines in a collaborative team environment Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Familiarity with project management tools, such as
