Your work will amplify the voices and stories of those making a difference in classrooms every day. What You’ll Do As our Marketing & Communications Specialist, you’ll take the lead on a range of creative and strategic responsibilities, including: Social Media Management Craft compelling content and grow NCCAT’s presence across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and X (formerly Twitter). Use photos, videos, reels, and narrative to build community and awareness.
Graphic Design & Brand Messaging Design engaging digital and print materials such as flyers, reports, event graphics, and more. Bring the brand to life with style and clarity.
Website & Email Content Help maintain and update website content. Support email communications to ensure timely and effective outreach to educators and stakeholders.
Marketing Outreach & Program Promotion Collaborate on campaigns to promote NCCAT’s professional development programs to educators throughout North Carolina.
Multimedia & Archive Support Build and manage a robust collection of photos, video interviews, and media assets that showcase our work in action. Why Work at NCCAT?

Competencies Communication Excellence:

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through written, verbal, and visual formats. Strong proofreading skills and an understanding of tone, grammar, and audience engagement.

Digital and Social Media Fluency:

Skilled in using social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, etc.) for strategic communication and audience building.

Graphic Design Proficiency:

Experience with design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar) to develop visually compelling print and digital materials.

Web and Content Management:

Familiarity with updating websites and managing email marketing content, including maintaining digital archives and databases.

Organizational Agility:

Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and adapt to shifting project needs in a fast-paced environment.

Technology and Office Tools:

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and general office systems. Able to learn and apply software tools used for communications, project management, and recordkeeping.

Program Understanding:

Ability to interpret and convey information about NCCAT’s goals, services, and programs to internal and external audiences.

Creative Problem-Solving:

Demonstrates initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to develop solutions within procedural and operational guidelines.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Minimum:

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four (4) years of related administrative, marketing, or communications experience.

Preferred:

A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, or a related field, plus experience with digital content creation, design tools, and social media management.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
