The new Division of Community Revitalization (DCR) was established to oversee the rebuilding of homes destroyed or damaged by Hurricane Helene and to coordinate and lead efforts to revitalize the economy of western North Carolina.
Description of Work:
DCR is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Information and Communications Specialist III to join our team. This position supports DCR by creating and sharing communications that promote DCR’s programs, goals, and services. The Communication Specialist works closely with the DCR executive team and the Commerce Communications team to produce clear, consistent messaging across print, web, video, and social media.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Writing and managing content for DCR’s website, social media, newsletters, and other materials.
Developing press releases, brochures, video scripts, and official correspondence.
Supporting DCR’s social media presence with timely and engaging content.
Responding to media inquiries and public information requests with accurate and well-researched information.
Maintaining records in accordance with state retention policies.
Collaborating with the Community Outreach Manager to share information with key stakeholder groups.
