Communication Consultant Job Summary:

Talent Software Servicesis in search of a Communication Consultant for a contract positionin Newark, NJ. The opportunity will be six months with a strongchance for a long-term extension.

Position Summary:

This positionsupports the Client’s Renewables and Energy Solutions (RES)business group, implementing Client’s Clean Energy Future programs.

The role involves providing strategic communications to achieve theRES group’s business objectives by collaborating with internalteams to develop creative, thoughtful, and impactful communicationsfor both internal and external audiences.

PrimaryResponsibilities/Accountabilities:

Drafting and preparingcommunication materials such as articles, press releases,statements, briefing documents, internal communications, andpresentations. Supporting leaders at events and during mediainterviews. Pitching and securing media opportunities, andresponding to media inquiries. Preparing external and internalpresentations for speakers. Building relationships with clients,including senior executives and technical staff, and leveragingthose relationships to ensure effective delivery of communicationproducts. Partnering with the Client’s web and creative servicesstaff and outside marketing agencies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’sdegree; prefer major in Communications, English, Journalism, orBusiness. 6 – 8 years of experience in public relations andcommunications. Excellent writing and editing skills, with ademonstrated ability to tell stories with a journalistic approach.

Media relations experience, including developing storylines andpitching reporters. Proficient in Microsoft Suite, especiallyPowerPoint. Experience in developing and managing internalcommunications. Understanding of social media and its applicationto business communications. Project management skills and strategicthinking abilities. Capacity to quickly adapt to changingpriorities, projects, and deadlines. Experience working withclients, customers, partners, and outside vendors and agencies.

Analytical skills and proven ability to be innovative and creative.

Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and meetingtight deadlines. Familiarity with creative processes and designcapabilities. Marketing skills and mindset are a plus. Someone whois a good storyteller, can interview internal people, and has greatinterpersonal skills. Strong PowerPoint skills and good designcapabilities. Experience with putting together newsletters (bothexternal and internal).

Media relations capabilities:

ability towrite/support edit of press releases and understanding of mediarelations mechanics. Minimum 5 years of experience is required.

Likely 2 rounds of interviews (starting with Zoom video, possiblyon-site for the 2nd interview). 60% external, 40% internalcommunication.
