This dual-role position requires a highly organized, community-focused individual with strong communication skills to manage constituent services, oversee public outreach, and assist in coordinating media and press-related activities, including newsletters and press releases. Responsibilities Constituent Services Act as the point of contact for constituents seeking assistance with state-related issues, including navigating government agencies and accessing services. Maintain and track casework files using the Constituent Relation Management system, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution. Provide information and resources to constituents, such as information about state/city programs, policies, and legislation. Represent the Assemblyman at community events, meetings, and forums to address constituent concerns and build community relationships. Communications and Outreach Assist with development of the Assemblyman’s newsletters to keep constituents informed about legislative updates, community events, and resources. Draft and edit press releases, media advisories, and public statements on behalf of the Assemblyman. Assist with updates to social media platforms and the Assemblyman’s website with engaging, timely content. Assist with coordination of public outreach and community engagement strategies to promote the Assemblyman’s initiatives and events. Office Support Collaborate with the district office team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of casework. Assist with planning and execution of district office events and community initiatives. Provide support for special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

Experience in communications, public relations, or a similar role; experience with constituent services or community engagement is a plus.

Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to customer service. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms, and basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, MailChimp. Familiarity with legislative processes and government agencies is a plus. Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism.

Other Requirements:

Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for community events. Bilingual proficiency is highly desirable (Madarin / Spanish)
