Qualifications:

Proven work experience as a Content Editor, Web Editor or similar role
Portfolio of published work
Excellent writing and editing skills in English
Attention to detail
Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress)
Familiarity with SEO and keyword research
BS in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or related field

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Proofread, re-structure and edit articles by content writers
Update Erie’s Public Schools website and social media pages with new content Craft and send Erie’s Public Schools monthly newsletter
Improve illustration and structure of web page
Monitor web traffic and user engagement
Design page layouts and templates
Produce design assets for use in social media and marketing channels
Develop and maintain consistent branding
Utilize data and analytics including community feedback in making design and content decisions
