4 Year Degree Newberry College is seeking candidates for a graduate assistant position within the Athletics External Relations Department. The successful applicant will serve a two-year assistantship, assisting in the day-to-day operations of the office which serves the athletic department’s 25 teams. Newberry College is a member of the South Atlantic Conference and NCAA Division II. The successful candidate will report to the Associate Athletic Director for External Relations. Duties will include, but not be limited to, tracking of partnership inventory, partner revenue, ticket promotions and gameday promotions. This candidate will assist in the creation of marketing materials such as gameday programs and social media content. Successful candidates will be expected to be active in both the College community and the Newberry community. The candidate must be willing to collaborate with campus and community partners. Other duties may be assigned.

JOB FUNCTIONS

1.Assists with marketing and promoting intercollegiate athletics programs including game sponsorships, group sales, signage, and program advertising 2.Assists with cultivating partnerships, fulfilling client needs, and billing for all partners. 3.Perform assorted game-day duties, such as organizing, directing, and supervising event student staff for games. 4.Promote Newberry Athletics through social media including X, Facebook and Instagram as well as any local, regional, and national media. 5.Assist with special events as assigned, including, but not limited to the Athletic Club Golf Outing and the Wolfies (end-of-the-year banquet). 6.Adhere to all NCAA, South Atlantic Conference and Newberry College rules and regulations. 7.Other duties as assigned by supervisor or Director of Athletics. Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, public relations, sports management or another related field. At least one year of working experience in the college or professional sports communications fields as a student-worker, intern, graduate assistant or other relevant position. Familiarity and/or experience with website maintenance, photography, videography, social media content creation and game/event management. Familiarity and/or experience with the following: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, AfterEffects), Microsoft Office, and Ticketing Software. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail. Ability to work weeknights and weekends. Admission to Newberry College graduate program.
