Communications Specialist I
Position Description / Responsibilities
Edits and updates district and school websites using a content management system (CMS)
Ensures web content is accurate, accessible, and aligned with brand and editorial guidelines
Drafts, designs, and schedules engaging content for social media platforms
Supports the editorial calendar for social media and monitors engagement metrics
Captures or sources photo and video content at school and district events and occasionally writes blog posts about events and notable students and staff members
Creates basic video clips and branded graphics for digital channels
Tracks analytics for websites and social media, reporting on key trends and opportunities
Provides basic technical and content support to school-based digital leads
Collaborates with internal teams to support communication campaigns and events
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, or a related field Preferred
Prior internship or professional experience in communications, social media, or content production Preferred
Please provide 2-3 examples of digital content or writing samples
Familiarity with web editing in a CMS (training provided)
Basic design skills using tools like Canva or Adobe Spark
