JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for planning, producing, and distributing content across the College’s social media platforms to increase engagement and strengthen affinity with key stakeholders, as well as collaborating on coordinated social media efforts across academic units. This includes developing strategies tailored to specific audiences and desired outcomes. The Producer will collaborate with staff in the Communications and Media Services team, in other CLAS units, and with colleagues across the university. The Producer will also collect and analyze data related to audience engagement with CLAS websites and other metrics relevant to evaluating the overall effectiveness of the Communications and Media Services team.
Social Media Strategy and Coordination
Lead the development and implementation of strategic social media plans to increase engagement and build affinity among CLAS audiences.
Maintain a comprehensive social media calendar that incorporates academic, cultural, and social events.
Coordinate social media efforts across academic units within CLAS and collaborate with partners across UF to ensure aligned messaging.
Support broader initiatives of the Communications and Media Services team by integrating social media into comprehensive campaigns.
Content Creation and Community Engagement
Develop original, platform-optimized social media content in accordance with CLAS and UF brand, accessibility, and style standards.
Capture and edit photographs and short videos for use on social platforms, collaborating closely with the team’s Multimedia Specialist.
Monitor, respond to, and engage with followers on social media in real time.
Collaborate with UF Strategic Communications and Marketing on time-sensitive or emergency responses.
Data Analytics and Performance Reporting
Collect and analyze metrics from social media, website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics), and project management systems.
Build dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights for team planning and evaluation.
Media Monitoring and Audience Research
Conduct social listening and monitor media mentions in online, print, and broadcast outlets.
Research audience trends and behaviors to inform content strategy.
Identify potential influencers and outreach opportunities to expand reach.

EXPECTED SALARY

The salary range for this position is $45,000 – $55,000.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.

PREFERRED

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
1-3 years of professional experience managing social media strategy and content for an organization.
Familiarity with social media content curation, management and scheduling platforms.
Demonstrated success in growing social media audiences and engagement.
Proficiency with Google Analytics and other digital analytics tools.
Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages tailored to different platforms and audiences.
Ability to think strategically, collaborate effectively, and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
